slowww.garden/dreams
a plain-spoken dream reader, now a page on slowww.garden. it says what a dream is organised around and what it might track in waking life, without pretending to be an oracle.
most dream tools sell mystery.
you get a mood and a few paragraphs about destiny, and nothing you can do with it. i made this for myself first. i don't think dreams predict anything. i think they're the mind working on something before i've admitted it's there, in images because it hasn't found the words yet. read like that, a dream is closer to a worried text from a friend than an omen, and it deserves the same plain attention: what are you actually saying, and what would help?
the voice came before any design.
matter-of-fact, like a careful reader. no prophecy and no padding to reassure you. it's why the symbol notes are short and a bit dry.
the part i care about most.
a reading that only explains leaves you where you started, so every reading ends with three actions. each one is small enough to do alone within a week, like a conversation to have or a fifteen-minute task. no "reflect", no "sit with it". if a dream doesn't point to anything, the app says what you're missing and how to find out.
built on real dreams.
i didn't want to invent symbols, so i started with the ones people actually report: being chased, falling, teeth, arriving late, a house with extra rooms. reddit's dream threads added the odder ones, like sleep paralysis, dying phones and alternate timelines. about sixty entries, searchable, all in the same voice.
slowww.garden/dreams.
it lives inside slowww.garden as its own page, next to the tarot. both are ways of noticing something about yourself sideways, when looking at it directly hasn't worked.
a map of my dreams.
i'm building a map where i can log my dreams and link them to each other. one dream on its own says a little. the ones that repeat say more. i want the map to tell me what it means to keep having certain dreams, what it means to go back to the same world again and again, and what ties them all together. it's still in progress.
